P.E. Class this week February 9 to February 13, 2015
I would like to remind
parents to send your children dressed in an appropriate way for the days that
they have P.E. class:
- No dresses for
the girls
- No jeans
- No crocks
- No sandals
- No boots
Children who are not
wearing the appropriate clothing will not be allowed to participate in P.E.
class.
General Information
ARTIFICIAL TURF (SOCCER FIELD AND PRE-SCHOOL
AREAS) -
Students may use tennis shoes, rubber-cleated
soccer shoes, or other soft footwear. Everyone should be aware that high-heeled
shoes are very damaging to this turf, and women should bring an extra pair of
shoes if they wish to enter of these areas. Thank you. (Dr. Ketterer)
VALENTINE’S DAY SENIORS ACTIVITIES – Our seniors will be
distributing pre-ordered candy grams, roses and love/friendship letters for
this Friday, February 13. They last day to pre-order these Valentine goodies is
next Wednesday, February 11. They will also have a bake sale and wedding chapel
that day during recess.
CAYOS COCHINOS - SWITCHED TO TELA– The Cayos
Cochinos trip of the 12th grade has been cancelled because of an incompatibility
of the dates for the trip. So, as part
of TES, Trabajo Educativo Social, the 12th graders will be going to Tela on
March 2 to 7 to assist the community of Garífunas. They are in need of school materials, so the
Senior class has decided to conduct a school supply drive. They would
appreciate any and all donations but wish to ask the following classes that
each student contributes the following:
Nursery and
Kinder – I pack of 12 colored markers
1st and 2nd
– 2 pencil sharpeners
3rd and 4th
– 1 pack of 12 colored pencils
5th – 2
scissors
6th to 8th –
2 normal sized composition notebooks
9th – 1
blue, black and red pen
10th – 1
pack of 12 pencils and two erasers
11th – 4 UHU
glue sticks
WE WOULD
ALSO GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY SPANISH BOOK DONATIONS. Please help not only the
Senior class, but also the lovely people in Tela.
P.E. CLASS THIS WEEK
The
season is getting hotter! It is recommended for children to wear sunblock and
always have their water bottle with them.
PRE-KINDER
We are going to run obstacles races
to develop gross motor skills and we will be playing “Color games”.
*¡This quarter, the students are going to have the opportunity to learn about the
soccer game!
KINDERGARTEN
We
are working on different obstacles races to improve coordination. We are also
going to play different games with the jump rope to develop gross motor.
FIRST GRADE
We
are working on some pre-sports activities (such as controlling the ball in
different routes) to develop soccer games.
SECOND GRADE
This
week we are going to develop some pre-sports activities for soccer such as;
control, pass and kick the soccer ball with a partner.
THIRD GRADE
This
week we will develop soccer pre-sports activities, to learn techniques such as
pass and kick the soccer ball. We are also going to play circle games to
reinforce this knowledge.
FOURTH GRADE
This
week the fourth grades will be working on different endurance skills, using
different games such as Italian relays.
FIFTH GRADE
During
this week we will continue developing physical activities to improve endurance
through games and activities such as running and relays.
