P.E. Class this week,
February 17 to February 20, 2015
I would like to remind parents to send
your children dressed in an appropriate way for the days that they have P.E.
class:
-
No dresses for the girls
-
No jeans
-
No crocks
-
No sandals
-
No boots
Children
who are not wearing the appropriate clothing will not be allowed to participate
in P.E. class.
General Information
ARTIFICIAL TURF (SOCCER FIELD AND PRE-SCHOOL
AREAS) -
Students may use tennis shoes, rubber-cleated
soccer shoes, or other soft footwear. Everyone should be aware that high-heeled
shoes are very damaging to this turf, and women should bring an extra pair of
shoes if they wish to enter of these areas. Thank you. (Dr. Ketterer)
CAYOS COCHINOS - SWITCHED TO TELA– The Cayos
Cochinos trip of the 12th grade has been cancelled because of an
incompatibility of the dates for the trip.
So, as part of TES, Trabajo Educativo Social, the 12th graders will be
going to Tela on March 2 to 7 to assist the community of Garífunas. They are in need of school materials, so the
Senior class has decided to conduct a school supply drive. They would
appreciate any and all donations but wish to ask the following classes that
each student contributes the following:
Nursery and
Kinder – I pack of 12 colored markers
1st and 2nd
– 2 pencil sharpeners
3rd and 4th
– 1 pack of 12 colored pencils
5th – 2
scissors
6th to 8th –
2 normal sized composition notebooks
9th – 1
blue, black and red pen
10th – 1
pack of 12 pencils and two erasers
11th – 4 UHU
glue sticks
WE WOULD
ALSO GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY SPANISH BOOK DONATIONS. Please help not only the
Senior class, but also the lovely people in Tela.
P.E.
CLASS THIS WEEK
The season is getting hotter! It is recommended for children to wear sunblock
and always have their water bottle with them.
*¡This quarter, the students are going
to have the opportunity to learn about the soccer game!
KINDERGARTEN
We are working
on different obstacle races to improve coordination. We are also going to play
different games with the soccer ball to develop gross motor.
FIRST
GRADE
We are
going to develop pre-sport activities such as passing the ball between partners
in different ways, and techniques to learn the appropriate way to kick a soccer
ball.
SECOND GRADE
The
students are going to learn how to control and kick the soccer ball, some
techniques to pass the ball to a partner and goalkeeper practice.
THIRD GRADE
We are
working on some pre-sports activities to develop the soccer game such as
controlling the ball in different routes, passing and kicking the soccer ball,
and goalkeeper practice.
FOURTH
GRADE
This
week we will focus on activities that promote teamwork and the importance of
each of the team member has for the achievement of the goals of the group.
FIFTH
GRADE
This
week we will focus on the muscular development. We are going to use a circuit
with different exercises for specific parts of the body (such as racing jumps,
and squats). At same time, we will continue developing soccer skills.
