P.E. Class this week, April 28 to May 1, 2014
I would like to remind parents to send your children dressed in an appropriate way for the days that they have P.E. class:
-  No dresses for the girls
-  No jeans
-  No crocks
-  No sandals
-  No boots

Children who are not wearing the appropriate clothing will not be allowed to participate in P.E. class.

 SPANISH WEEK – The Spanish department will be hosting a wax museum this Monday from 1:20 – 2:20 p.m., and as a culminating activity will have an assembly at 2:30 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend.

DISCOVERY IDOL – Our annual talent show will take place on Thursday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m.

EARLY DISMISSAL FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – We want to remind our parents that Thursday is an early dismissal day for students (11:45 a.m.). Our teachers will be devoting the afternoon for curriculum work.

DPTO NEWS – The DPTO asks our school community to mark their calendars and support the following events by attending with family and friends:
    May 10 – Fun Run and Carnival
    May 17 - Garage Sale
   
   P.E. CLASS THIS WEEK
  The season is getting hotter! It is recommended for children to wear sunblock and always have their water bottle with them.

   PRE-KINDER
  We will develop motor skills through the manipulation of various objects, such as Frisbee and different sizes of balls.

   *¡This last quarter, the students are going to have the opportunity to learn about the soccer game!
  
   KINDERGARTEN
  We are working on different obstacle races to improve coordination. We are also going to play different games with the soccer ball to develop gross motor.

  FIRST GRADE 
   We are going to develop pre-sport activities such as passing the ball between partners in different ways, and techniques to learn the appropriate way to kick a soccer ball.

  SECOND GRADE
   The students are going to learn how to control and kick the soccer ball, some techniques to pass the ball to a partner and goalkeeper practice.

  THIRD GRADE
   We are working on some pre-sports activities to develop the soccer game such as controlling the ball in different routes, passing and kicking the soccer ball, and goalkeeper practice.

   FOURTH GRADE
   This week we will focus on activities that promote teamwork and the importance of each of the team member has for the achievement of the goals of the group.

   FIFTH GRADE
   This week we will focus on the muscular development. We are going to use a circuit with different exercises for specific parts of the body (such as racing jumps, and squats). At same time, we will continue developing soccer skills.
