P.E. Class this week, April 27 to May 1, 2015
I would like to remind parents to send your children dressed in an appropriate way for the days that they have P.E. class:
-  No dresses for the girls
-  No jeans
-  No crocks
-  No sandals
-  No boots     

Children who are not wearing the appropriate clothing will not be allowed to participate in P.E. class.

General Information
FRIDAY MAY 1st, NO SCHOOL, Honduran Labor Day.

ARTIFICIAL TURF (SOCCER FIELD AND PRE-SCHOOL AREAS) - 
Students may use tennis shoes, rubber-cleated soccer shoes, or other soft footwear. Everyone should be aware that high-heeled shoes are very damaging to this turf, and women should bring an extra pair of shoes if they wish to enter of these areas. Thank you.  (Dr. Ketterer)

SUMMER CAMPDiscovery Zone 6 is back! Get an early registration! The Summer Camp will run from June 8-26, from 8:00 to 11: 50 a.m.  Please ask Ms. Valencia Duron for more information vduron@discoveryschool.edu.hn

P.E. Class this week
PRE-KINDER
This week we continue to strengthen the follow instructions, standing, sitting, up and down and we are going to play games that the student follow instructions for its development.

KINDERGARTEN
We are working to strengthen the colors and clothing knowledge through games such as, color races. Also we are going to play animal walks and name races. 

FIRST GRADE
This week we are going to begin to develop volleyball pre-sports activities through teamwork activities such as big ball games.

SECOND GRADE
This week we will develop teamwork activities that will lead to the development of volleyball pre-sport.

THIRD GRADE
We will develop teamwork, manipulation skills activities, and begin to develop activities for the volleyball pre-sport. 

FOURTH GRADE
This week we will practice activities to develop motor skills such as agility racing, as well as the development of activities for volleyball pre-sports.

FIFTH GRADE
This week we will develop activities for volleyball pre-sports that will focus on developing motor skills, such as agility racing.

GO GREEN MONTHstudents are encouraged to wear green each Friday this month.

BRICKS4KIDZ – Session 3 is this Friday, April 17. The sessions run from 3:15 to 4:15 and will be open for students in from kindergarten to grade five. There are spaces still available! You can register on Friday!

GO GREEN MONTH:  Last Friday, we kicked off our GO GREEN month’s activities with an assembly.  Students are reminded to take green actions in their classrooms and at home.  Students will be keeping a “GO GREEN” chart in their classroom to record these actions.   Recycling is one of these actions, so students are encourage to bring from home their cleaned and sorted paper, glass, aluminum, and plastic containers for recycling.   Also, remember to wear green each Friday this month.

Pre-Kinder   
With the pre-kinder kids, we are going to develop motor skills through the manipulation of various objects, such as Scoops and different size of balls.

Kindergarten
The students are going to enjoy different types of Scoops games, such as monkey in the middle to continue developing their motor skills.

First Grade
This week the students carry out activities to develop eye/hand coordination.

Second Grade
Strengthen the eye/hand coordination through ball activities with different surfaces, such as scoops.

Third Grade
Through recreational activities, I will introduce the students to the scoops game, which is a pre-sports activity for the lacrosse game.

Fourth Grade
During this week, students are learning about physical condition and introduction to Handball; they are doing this by using the game skills.

Fifth Grade
The 5th graders will be practicing different exercises to improve physical condition, and at the same time, they will start learning the basic Handball skills.
