P.E. THIS WEEK, NOVEMBER 1ST TO NOVEMBER 5

TIP OF THE WEEK

Tips and hints to get you fit and healthy

1. Get real and be specific. Write down three or four realistic goals that you can stick to. For example, "I will try to lose one pound of body fat every week. I will walk for 30 minutes minimum five days a week." Avoid fantasy-land goals that will only frustrate you.

2. Get prepared. Throw away all the junk, the processed, and the "bingeable" foods now and replace them with fresh, whole foods like lots of water and veggies. Buy a new pair of walking shoes and find some clothes in your closet you feel comfortable to walk in. During a lifestyle change, if you fail to plan, then you plan to fail!

3. Get support. Whether it's your best friend, spouse, or pet, it helps to have some nonjudgmental and nurturing support when trying to lose weight, especially during trying times.

4. Make daily notes. Research has shown that keeping track of your daily exercise and food intake in a journal or notebook will increase the likelihood of success. Keep it simple, or if you're inspired, write a novel! The key is to hold yourself accountable.

5. Create a food-free reward system. How about a new workout outfit, pair of jeans, shoes -- or what the heck, even a spa treatment, shopping spree, or weekend getaway? You deserve this kind of treatment when you reach your goals.

Will continue...

P.E. THIS WEEK, OCTOBER 25 TO OCTOBER 29

Track and Field

We want to congratulate all the children who represented the school last week in the Track and Field tournament. We also want to thank Ms. Giles and the teachers who supported us in this activity as well the parents, without their support this activity had not been a success.

Seven things NOT to do after eating

4. Do not tighten the belt after eating. Tighten the belt after a meal may cause you bowel problems.

5. Do not swim after eating. Bathing will cause the increased blood flow to the hands, legs and body, causing the amount of blood around the stomach to decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.

6. Do not walk after eating even when you hear people say to walk a few hundred yards after a meal will live till 99. Walking immediately after a meal, will make the digestive system to absorb the nutrients we consume. Wait at least an hour after a meal and then walk if you want to.

7. Do not sleep immediately after eating. Food can not be digested properly and therefore it will cause gastrointestinal problems.

TRACK AND FIELD

Finally this week will be the Track and Filed Tournament. Tuesday and Wednesday for Secondary and Thursday and Friday for Elementary, we are going to leave school at 1:00 pm on school’s transportation and you have to pick up your children at 4:30 pm at The Villa Olímpica. On Friday, because we will have the UN Day celebration, you have to take them from school to The Villa Olímpica at 1:00 pm for the tournament.

TIP OF THE WEEK
Seven things NOT to do after eating

1. Do not smoke after a meal. Expert’s experiments prove that smoking a cigarette after meal is like smoke TEN cigarettes. (The chances of cancer are higher)

2. Do not eat fruits immediately after meals. This will bloat your stomach. Therefore eat fruit one or two hours before or after dinner.

3. Do not drink tea after a meal. Tea leaves have a high acid content. This acid will cause that the food protein will become heavier, making it difficult to digest.

Will continue next week...

We also want to inform you that we are taking our first steps to organize the soccer football team and the practices will begin in a few days.

TIP OF THE WEEK:
Water is vital for our body and can help you lose weight and keep our shape.
Controlling hunger with water;
Water helps to control the calories you consume for several reasons:

1-Helps give volume but not calories to your meal. When you consume foods rich in water feel like eating much, but do not consume a lot of calories.
2-Dehydration is often confused with hunger and instead of taking liquids we eat.

Be sure to drink plenty of fluids (without caffeine and sugar) during the day.
